Cowboys are doing something they only have ever done twice before

It is basically our annual tradition at this point.
This year will mark the ninth time in 20 that the Cowboys and Giants will face off against each other in a season-opener, but interestingly it will also mark the fourth consecutive year in which the Cowboys will begin a season, regardless of opponent, on the road.
Interestingly, this streak started with a road game against the Giants. Dallas visited MetLife Stadium to begin 2023, also on Sunday Night Football, and then went to Cleveland to start the 2024 campaign. Last season the Cowboys visited the Eagles in the season-opener which is traditionally played on the first Thursday night of the year.
Four years in a row is quite the streak, and it turns out that it has only been seen twice before in franchise history. Last year saw the franchise experience its sixth streak of three road openers, but at long last we have seen the franchise return to its 90s dynasty roots.

If the Cowboys also begin next season on the road then they will officially match the longest streak in franchise history. Starting on the road wouldn't be so bad if it guaranteed a home finish, but consider that in this current streak that Dallas has ended a season on the road (2023 and 2025) more often than at home (2024). We are talking about the regular season to be clear as the 2023 Cowboys obviously made the playoffs and lost in the Wild Card Round at home.
