YWCA Hamilton gets $35M from Ottawa to build 84 supportive housing units in east end

If all goes as planned for YWCA Hamilton, up to 60 single women and 24 women-led families will have a home near Barton and Ottawa streets by the end of 2027. After at least two years of advocacy, the organization has secured $35 million in federal funding to build a supportive housing project for women, gender-diverse people and survivors of domestic violence.
