What is happening with the Arizona Cardinals is super interesting, as they are continually being portrayed in mostly negative light from the outside and one of those things now is that they are going to be part of the offseason fodder.

One thing about that fodder is when the NFL insiders start talking about them trading their good players, and that started today with Josh Sweat.

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly receiving trade calls on pass rusher Josh Sweat, per @Schultz_Report.

Recent trade that profiles similar to Sweat, was his former teammate Haason Reddick in 2024.

The Eagles received a 2026 conditional 3rd for Reddick.

Here is the thing, trading Josh Sweat this offseason makes absolutely zero sense for the Arizona Cardinals. They did nothing, literally nothing, to upgrade the edge position, so trading away their only viable pass rusher would be something that doesn't make sense.

That doesn't mean he won't be someone they should look at moving if it makes sense during the season, as his value may increase for them in the trade market during the season if they are struggling as many expect, and Sweat will be 30 next year.

However, teams are going to start circling, because the offseason has not been a positive one for the Arizona Cardinals on paper.
