Jets signing kicker Younghoe Koo
The Jetsare bringing in another kicker to compete for a spot this offseason.
Sources tell SNY's Connor Hughes that Gang Green is signing Younghoe Koo.
Koo split last season between the Falcons and Giants where he played in six games. He was 6-for-9 on kicks last season, but he will compete with Cade York and Lenny Krieg, the other kickers currently on the Jets roster.
The Jets are searching for Nick Folk's replacement after the veteran kicker signed with the Falcons this offseason.
Folk had a 96.6 percent success rate (28-29) last season on field goal attempts.
After appearing in four games with the Chargers in 2017, Koo burst onto the scene with Atlanta in 2019, making 23 of 26 FG attempts and 15 of 16 extra-point attempts. The next season, Koo made his one and only Pro Bowl after he made 37 of 39 field goal attempts, including going 8-for-8 from 50-plus yards. The next four seasons in Atlanta were a mixed bag for Koo and after a down 2024 season where his success rate was a career-low of 73.5 percent, and his season ended after suffering a hip injury, the Falcons released their long-time kicker after he missed a potential go-ahead field goal in the team's loss to the Buccaneers in Week 1 of the 2025 season.
