Since Matthew Stafford arrived in Los Angeles, he's been nothing but a winner.

After the conclusion of Thursday's practice for Rams OTAs, Stafford was asked by Bridget Condon of the NFL Network what motivates him heading into his 18th NFL season.

I love playing this game. I love to compete. I love being a part of a team," said Stafford, 38. If I can still play this game at a high level, why not?"

When the Rams traded for Stafford in 2021, he was a 12-year NFL veteran.

The Rams envisioned Stafford as the player who would win them their second Super Bowl in franchise history and the first since they moved back to LA.

The plan worked exactly as they hoped.

In 2022, Super Bowl 56 was played at SoFi Stadium. Stafford led the Rams to a 23-20 victory over the Bengals, winning his first ring. Since then, the Rams have remained legitimate contenders.

I just love being out here. Enjoy being a Ram and fighting for Super Bowls, and trying to win ballgames."

The Super Bowl is returning to SoFi Stadium on Feb. 14, 2027. The Rams are the favorites to win Super Bowl 61 after falling short in the NFC Championship game against the Seahawks.

A week ago, the Rams and Stafford renewed their successful partnership, giving the NFL MVP a contract extension for over $100 million.

Stafford threw for 4,707 yards with 46 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season.
