After a few weeks of movement and uncertainty, the Wisconsin Badgers have found their next general manager, and it'll come from the NFL ranks, as several colleges have looked to do in recent years.

The Badgers are hiring longtime NFL executive Morocco Brown as their next general manager, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on Sunday morning.

Brown had most recently been the Chief Personnel Executive for the Indianapolis Colts before leaving the role in June of 2025. He had been with the Colts itself since 2017, and also has previous stints with the Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, and the Chicago Bears.

A longtime NFL executive, Brown brings experience as a scout and the business acumen to take over the Badgers general manager role, which had been initially filled by Marcus Sedberry.

But, Sedberry was elevated to become the interim Athletic Director following the abrupt departure of Chris McIntosh, who left the front office for a role with the Big Ten.

So, finding a general manager was a priority for the Badgers, although head coach Luke Fickell said last month that the team planned to finish out spring ball before beginning their search.

Now, they have their guy with Brown, who takes over a big role at a crucial point for the Badgers after a couple of disappointing seasons.
