The Pittsburgh Steelers have released veteran defensive back Makari Paige ahead of opening mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. This is in correspondence with the team officially signing former Buffalo Bills safety Darnell Savage.

Paige was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan last April. He was released at the end of the preseason. The Steelers signed Paige on May 13.

The Steelers begin their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, where arguably the biggest aspect to pay attention to is if Nick Herbig and/or Joey Porter Jr will hold in as they both await long-term contract extensions.
