Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson said what he was supposed to say about his own team on Tuesday. Asked what he thinks about the Rams trading for Myles Garrett, the veteran linebacker heading into his eighth season expressed no concern about playing L.A., with or without the star pass rusher.

They got to deal with us. At the end of the day, they got to deal with us."

Fans are shocked that a Cardinals player would believe that his team is better than the Rams, and sure enough Arizona's history and present does more than suggest a bleak 2026 season compare to L.A., but perhaps one of the only signs of life in that organization is having players tho believe in themselves. That's new.

They gotta deal with us."

The Cardinals went 3-14 last season and have lost five of their last six games to the Rams.

Arizona has tried the if you can't beat em, hire their coaches" approach by taking Mike LaFleur from Sean McVay's staff to begin another reset. The Cardinals have a contractual stand-off with quarterback Jacoby Brissett, but the veteran is in mandatory minicamp anyway. There's no question that Arizona has an intriguing offense around Brissett, including running back Jeremiyah Love, tight end Trey McBride, and receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.

It's the defense led by Mack Wilson that seems to be in more disarray.

What answers will a bottom-five defense have for Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Kyren Williams, and McVay next season, when Arizona made barely any changes on that side of the ball?

In the words of Wilson, at the end of the day" we will find out.

But c'mon. He said what he's supposed to say.
