The Linux.org story

Rob Kennedy has posted thestory of the birth of Linux.org - oneof the earliest Linux-related web sites - and its more recent rebirth.

The site was founded in May 1994 by Michael McLagan, at a time whenLinux itself was barely three years old. Linus Torvalds had onlyjust released it to the world, there was no real way for a newcomerto find their footing, no search engines, no Wikipedia, none of theinfrastructure people take for granted now for figuring out a newpiece of technology. Michael built linux.org to fill that gap, aplace for people to learn about Linux and follow the movement as itgrew.
