In June 2011, a Swedish treasure-hunting team called OceanX returned from the Gulf of Bothnia with a blurry sonar image of something on the seafloor: a roughly circular, 200-foot feature they said looked man-made. When the Daily Mail ran the image in 2012, it became a global sensation - a sunken UFO, some said, its outline helpfully redrawn by tabloids to resemble the Millennium Falcon. - Read the rest
