The Commanders have placed linebacker and core special teams player Nick Bellore on the reserve-retired list, the team announced on Monday afternoon.

Bellore played 15 NFL seasons, including the last two in Washington. He played 32 games during that span, with 33 tackles and one for a loss. The two-time Pro Bowler also played for the Jets, 49ers, Lions and Seahawks.

This is the corresponding move with the signing of veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas. The team announced the Douglas signing on July 9, without a cut to keep them at the roster limit.

The Commanders have placed LB Nick Bellore on the reserve-retired list.

This represents the corresponding move to the CB Rasul Douglas signing. Washington is now at the camp roster limit (90 players + an International Player Pathway roster examption)

With the full squad set to report on Tuesday, the Commanders had to reach the 90-man limit, though the roster's technically at 91 after they used an International Player Pathway exemption on T.J. Maguranyanga.

Bellore made a career out of excellent special teams play, and his absence will be felt in the kicking game during the 2026 campaign.

While the Commanders will have the full squad in training camp on Tuesday, they won't practice until Wednesday morning.
