What's your favorite memory from the Ed Policy era?

It's a pretty short list to choose from. In truth, we've really only had one significant moment with the Packers' new president, and it happened yesterday. Yes, in his still-short career as the Packers' head man, this is pretty much the only significant public thing he's done so far.

And more or less, he seemed to hit the right notes. But what else do you expect him to say?

It's the most public event, sure, but in a lot of ways, the shareholders meeting is about the easiest job on Policy's calendar. You show up, say we believe in Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur," tell everyone you're trying to win a championship, promise to never sell the naming rights to Lambeau Field or move the team (neither of which was ever going to happen, anyway), and then go home.

The real job of presidenting (presiding? being the president?) is everything that happens when Policy isn't talking to the public. It's one thing to have happy talk about the future of the team and what comes next for the Packers. It's another thing to actually ensure the future is bright, and we won't know for months or years what Policy is actually doing on that front.
