Tuli Tuipulotu not participating to open Chargers training camp
Wednesday marked the first training camp practice for the Chargers. Head Jim Harbaugh addressed the media prior to the start of the day's session and was forthcoming in that he believed every single player on the roster was cleared medically to participate and expected everyone to be on the field. That also included a note about edge rusher Tuli Tuipulotu who is due for a contract extension at some point this season.
When asked about Tuli specifically, Harbaugh reiterated that he expected everyone to be out there on the field.
Once practice began, reporters were quick to note that Tuli was working off to the side without pads or a helmet. He would stay on the sideline in that capacity for the entire practice.
After coming off a breakout season that saw him notch career highs in both sacks and tackles for loss, it's no surprise that he may be looking to sign a new deal before putting his body on the line in camp.
