The Seattle Seahawks continued their 2026 training camp with a lighter practice in front of fans on Saturday afternoon. After doing padded practices on Thursday and Friday, Seattle opted to go pad-less for Saturday. With Sunday scheduled as an off-day before a return to the field on Monday, it seems like the goal for the Seahawks coaching staff is to still keep players fresh and not overdo it with intensity and physicality.

Here's a recap of Saturday's practice!

Seahawks training camp news and notes

Elijah Arroyo and Tory Horton shine on offense

It was an injury-riddled year for both Arroyo and Horton last season. Arroyo had a stint on IR due to a knee injury, while Horton cracked his tibia and had his season end after Week 9. Horton had a fair bit more productivity than Arroyo, but they each have enticing traits that could help elevate the passing game.

Saturday's practice will be encouraging for Seahawks fans, as they each caught touchdowns during practice.

From Tacoma News Tribune's Gregg Bell:

The second-year tight end and 2025 draft choice caught two touchdown passes on deft moves in his pass pattern during that same one-on-one drill that featured Smith-Njigba versus Witherspoon. Arroyo faked a move outside right then cut sharply left to turn around safety Rodney Thomas for one of his touchdowns. Arroyo also caught a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone from Darnold, past starting safety Ty Okada on a deep tight-end route that appeared to confuse Okada and Witherspoon on that side of the field.

[...]

Saturday was the fourth consecutive practice and sixth of the camp's seven practices Horton's participated in, in his return from the injury. On his latest day, Horton scored two touchdowns on consecutive drives in 11 on 11. For his first score the 6-foot-2 Horton leaped over 5-10 cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles to rip Drew Lock's pass out of the air in the end zone.

The second score was out of the left slot, a seam route. Darnold's bullet pass hit Horton's hands in stride on his sprint through the starting secondary to the end zone.

Bud Clark's involvement with the starters increases

The ball-hawking rookie safety out of TCU had the dream moment of meeting Richard Sherman, which we'll likely see more of when Hard Knocks premieres on Aug. 4. On the field, Clark had (as expected) practiced seldomly with the starters to begin camp. With Julian Love only lightly participating in practice (likely a veteran rest day), Clark had extended time with the starters.

It felt amazing. It was moving fast and I felt like I was moving fast with it. I adapted to it pretty well," Clark said to media after practice.

Two Seahawks veterans return to practice

No harm, no foul for Ernest Jones IV and Anthony Bradford after not finishing up practice on Friday. It's never a given that training camp will end relatively unscathed, as we've seen across the NFL on an annual basis.

The Seahawks wrapped up their seventh practice of camp a few minutes ago. Huge day for Elijah Arroyo - more coming on that in my notebook. Also, Ernest Jones IV and Anthony Bradford were back after not finishing practice yesterday.

Tomorrow is an off day.

Several Seahawks sit out practice, including rookie corner Julian Neal

Meanwhile, Jake Bobo's apparent hamstring problem has meant #LessBobo on the practice field. Brandon Pili remains out with a leg injury, while rookie cornerback Julian Neal's undisclosed injury has kept him out of the last several practices. At the moment, it seems Michael Dansby has been the rookie corner making the most noise at camp.

DNPs: Julian Neal, Mike Morris, J.R. Singleton, Chris Paul Jr., Jamie Sheriff, Jared Ivey, Jake Bobo, Robbie Ouzts. PUP: Zach Chabonnet and Nick Emmanwori. https://t.co/IcM1Zm6Ca4

We will update with more highlights if available, but highlights will be scarce in this general era of tightening filming restrictions among fans and reporters alike at NFL training camps.

Reminder: Field Gulls reports from Seahawks training camp!

Field Gulls will be on site as part of the Seahawks Syndicate crew, which features myself, Bryce Coutts, Dan Viens, and Brandon Cain (who will be joining our podcasts virtually this year). We'll be at three practices on Aug. 5, 7, and 8, with live podcasts streaming from Fast Fashion Brewing in SoDo! Emerald City Spectrum's Corbin Smith will be a special guest on Aug. 5 at 7:30 pm PT. You're all invited to all three recordings, but especially a special Town Hall style show on Aug. 7 at 7:30 pm, in which there will be a giveaway by Dan for the Seahawks-Cowboys preseason game.

Our last show is 2:30 pm PT before Fan Fest at lumen Field. Myself, Bryce, and Josh Hite are among the Field Gulls staff that will be at camp in some capacity during these days. Come hang with us at Fast Fashion and/or meet us at the berm on those two VMAC days.

We'll share our perspectives with immediate post-practice takeaways before more in-depth talk on the pods.
