Cowboys fans feel pretty sure about who will be QB2 for 2026

This one was a blowout. Usually when we do polls here on BTB, the results are close, or at least they are not slanted too heavily in one direction. Not this time.

Earlier in the week we presented you with the two options to be the backup for Dak Prescott in 2026. This is not just a formality given the injury problems Dak Prescott has had as he has gotten older. Every other year he misses a chunk of games, and we are in the injury year of his cycle.

Whoever backs up Prescott may have to paly at least a few games this year.

So when asked to choose between Sam Howell and Joe Milton III, the Cowboys fanbase overwhelmingly chose Howell 80% to 20%. It seems like game experience carries a lot of weight in this battle, and at QB that can make sense. Howell has a whole season of starting under his belt.

Hopefully, though, we never see either player hit the field in 2026 unless it is for mop up duty.
