One of the biggest hold-ins at 2026 NFL training camp has come to a quick end. Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson will reportedly sign a three-year extension that could reach up to $75 million with the team, according to NFL Network.

Robinson will receive $51 million guaranteed, the highest-ever for a running back. The deal also makes Robinson the highest-paid running back in NFL history. He'll make an average annual salary of $22.25 million, per the NFL.

Robinson, 24, quickly emerged as one of the best running backs in the NFL after he was selected with the No. 8 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2023. After a modest rookie season, Robinson has averaged 1,467 rushing yards, 625.5 receiving yards and 13 total touchdowns over the past two years.

With Robinson nearing the end of his rookie contract, the running back sought an extension with the Falcons. Prior to his new deal, Robinson was signed through the 2027 season after the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option in April. The new extension will keep him around for a few more years.

With Robinson angling for a new deal, the running back sat out of training camp practices early on. He's expected to return to the field soon after his extension is finalized. Robinson wasn't the only running back holding-in during camp. Detroit Lions star Jahmyr Gibbs is currently using the same strategy, and is probably elated to see Robinson's deal come through, as it means Gibbs can ask for more in talks with the Lions.

Despite Robinson's excellence - he's a two-time Pro Bowler and an All-Pro - the Falcons have not made the playoffs since drafting Robinson in 2023.
