Although Hall of Fame receiver Larry Fitzgerald refuses to refer to himself as "retired," the only NFL team he ever played for will be retiring his jersey.

The Cardinals have announced that Fitzgerald's No. 11 will be retired during the Week 7 home game against the Broncos. Fitzgerald also will be added to the team's Ring of Honor.

"No one who has ever worn a Cardinals uniform is more deserving of this honor," team owner Michael Bidwill said.

Previously, the Cardinals have retired No. 8 for safety Larry Wilson, No. 40 for safety Pat Tillman, No. 77 for tackle Stan Mauldin, No. 88 for tight end J.V. Cain, and No. 99 for halfback Marshall Goldberg.

Goldberg's number was briefly unretired for future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt, who played in 2021 and 2022 for the Cardinals.
