They might not be starting, but all eyes will be on the rookie quarterbacks when the Los Angeles Rams face off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Aug. 15.

Rams head coach Sean McVay already announced that Stetson Bennett, not rookie first-round pick Ty Simpson, would start against the Chiefs on Saturday. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said rookie seventh-rounder Garrett Nussmeier would mix in with Justin Fields and Chris Oladokun for some snaps in the preseason opener.

Simpson is the heir apparent to veteran Matthew Stafford in Los Angeles as the latter enters his age-38 season. Nussmeier was a highly touted quarterback prospect of his own before concerns about an abdominal injury tanked his draft value. It sounds like NFL fans will finally get a look at both of them in their NFL debuts a couple of days after 2026 No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza impressed in his first game as a pro.
