Google just set the date for its big Googlebook event in New York
- Google will showcase its new Googlebook platform at an in-person media event in New York City on September 15.
- The event will include a keynote detailing Googlebook's software, Gemini features, and native Android codebase.
- Google will also have hands-on stations featuring Googlebook hardware from partners like Lenovo, ASUS, and HP.
Google has confirmed that it will host an in-person media preview for its new Googlebook platform in New York City on September 15, 2026.
At The Android Show earlier this year, alongside announcing Android 17, Google also gave us our first look at its new lineup of premium laptops called Googlebooks.
At the time, the company didn't reveal too many details, apart from confirming that these laptops are being built from the ground up for Gemini Intelligence. Google also showcased a few interesting features, including the ability to create your own widgets using Gemini, Magic Pointer, and deeper integration with Android phones.
But since then, Google has remained quiet about Googlebook. The company didn't share much about the platform during the recent Pixel 11 launch either, only confirming that we'd hear more about the laptops this fall alongside hardware partners like Lenovo, ASUS, HP, and others.
Thankfully, we now know exactly when that's happening.
Google is finally ready to talk more about Googlebooks
Chrome Unboxed has received an official invite from Google for an in-person Googlebook showcase in New York City on September 15.
According to the publication, Google has also shared an itinerary for the event, which includes a keynote from Google leadership introducing the new computing platform, its software features, and the native Android codebase powering Googlebooks.
There will also reportedly be hands-on stations from Google's OEM partners, which presumably means we'll finally get to see some of the actual Googlebook hardware coming from companies like Lenovo, ASUS, HP, and others.
So there you have it. We finally have a date for when Google plans to properly unveil Googlebook, and it's now less than a month away.
Leaks have already given us an early look at some of Lenovo's upcoming Googlebooks. The new laptops are also expected to feature Google's HiLight LED bar, the same glowing design element we've now seen on the Google Home Speaker and Pixel 11 Pro lineup.
