Head coach Jesse Minter has described them as an opportunity for his established starters who are not playing in the preseason to see some competitive live action against another team. Below are a few key matchups to watch, followed by live update from both teams' social media accounts and reporters on the scene!
Key Ravens-Vikings practice matchupsJustin Jefferson vs. Ravens CBsThe Ravens have only faced Justin Jefferson twice in his career. In 2021, he caught three of his five targets for 69 yards and a touchdown, but last year, he was held to just four catches for 37 yards on 12 targets. It is easy, though, to blame J.J. McCarthy for that underwhelming stat line. Jefferson may have better luck with Kyler Murray under center, especially against a group of Ravens cornerbacks that has had an up-and-down training camp. Marlon Humphrey has been on the wrong side of multiple Ja'Kobi Lane highlight grabs, and both he and Nate Wiggins are coming off minor injuries suffered in practice last week. Will they be able to keep up with Jettas this afternoon?
Dallas Turner, Caleb Banks vs. Ravens OLMinnesota has two young defensive linemen who could test the Ravens' blockers: edge rusher Dallas Turner and defensive tackle Caleb Banks. Turner, a 2024 first-round pick, broke out with eight sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and four forced fumbles last year. After Jonathan Greenard's departure, he will likely line up across from the left tackle this season, so he should test Ronnie Stanley and Carson Vinson on the blind side this week. Banks, the No. 18 pick in April's draft, has a rare blend of size, speed, strength, and explosiveness that will be an especially good test for the Ravens' centers competing for a starting job. Jovaughn Gwyn in particular could benefit from the matchup. He showed off his technique and athleticism in Baltimore's preseason win over the Eagles, but can he handle Banks' size and physicality?

Only Ravens I don't see in uniform for practice are RB Rasheen Ali and ILB Carl Jones Jr. Both are on field but not in uniform. ILB Jay Higgins (concussion) is holding a non-contact jersey but he's in uniform
