The word from Miami is that live-tweeting will be allowed during the joint practice on Thursday morning between the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins.

Video, apparently, is not beng allowed. Still, keep it here for updates that come out of the practice from New York and Miami beat writers in attendance.

Practice comes to an end

Practice ends with the Giants offense going down and kicking a field goal as time expired. Followed by another little scrum.

Appropriate ending for the day. Bunch of fights and perhaps the best day for Jaxson Dart and the Giants offense this summer.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) August 20, 2026

Sounds like this was a really good day for the Giants overall.

As this practice winds down in Miami Gardens the Giants continue to pressure and sack Malik Willis and Co.

Just a really bad day for the Dolphins offense in this joint practice

Lots to work on

- Joe Schad (@schadjoe) August 20, 2026

Dolphins late-game situational drive with Giants: First-down sack from Abdul Carter, third-down sack by CB Dru Phillips untouched on the blitz.

My goodness.

- David Furones (@DavidFurones_) August 20, 2026

More evidence of defensive domination by the Giants.

Field goal period

Dominic Zvada: 5 for 5

Ben Sauls: 3 for 5, hooked two right #Giants

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Domic Zvada keeps dominating this competition.

Paulson Adebo INT on one field. Jaxson Dart intercepted by Jacob Rodriguez on the other field throwing deep for Calvin Austin

Now another Dolphins cheap shot on Tyrone Tracy

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

The Dolphins seem to be instigating most of the extra-cirricular stuff. They're a really young team with a rookie head coach, and it seems as though they are getting the worst of the on-field play. So, not surprising.

Looks like Austin Jackson has been kicked out of practice

- Alain Poupart (@PoupartNFL) August 20, 2026

As a result of the extra-cirriculars, I would have to believe.

We've got fights!

And yet another skirmish that got a whole bunch of people involved, including Keith Cooper Jr., Ronnie Harrison Jr. and Zeek Biggers for the Dolphins and Jameis Winston and J.C. Davis for the Giants.

- Alain Poupart (@PoupartNFL) August 20, 2026

Fight breaks out between the Dolphins' O and Giants D

Austin Jackson threw a punch and was immediately knocked to the ground by Kayvon Thibodeaux

Another fight just broke out on the other field, I didn't see what happened but a lot of players involved in the aftermath

- Marcel Louis-Jacques (@Marcel_LJ) August 20, 2026

Reporters on the scene could sense this coming with the intense heat in Miami.

Practice is spinning out of control. Calvin Austin took exception to a late hit by a Dolphins DB and then Jameis Winston got involved and took a big shot from a Dolphin. Then looked like a Dolphin threw a punch at Winston

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Oh, boy!

Najee Harris powerful TD run in the backups' second series. Evan Neal at RG with the 2s with Ezeudu bumped up to 1s

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

An Evan Neal mention.

It looks like Josh Ezeudu, who has had a strong start to practice, is sliding in for Sisi Mauigoa now with the Giants' 1st team OL

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Yes, Josh Ezeudu at guard with the starters in place of a banged-up Sisi Mauigoa. Ezeudu is making the 53-man roster.

Najee Harris is in live drills at practice just days after signing a one-year, veteran minimum deal at $1.2 million. No guarantees in his deal.

Harris looks pretty good physically having just signed and coming off a torn Achilles.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) August 20, 2026

What was that about Najee Harris not being in football shape"?

Giants DL Chauncey Golson about to set a record for sacks in a joint practice. He's at three already.

- Alain Poupart (@PoupartNFL) August 20, 2026

Chauncey Golston having a day. Golston has been spending more and more time with the starters in base 3-man defensive fronts.

This is very ugly for Dolphins O vs. Giants D, folks

I know I'm sending a lot of posts-formerly-known-as-tweets

But this is bloody right now

- Joe Schad (@schadjoe) August 20, 2026

Giants' defense looking dominant.

Giants right guard Sisi Mauigoa walking off the field with the training staff. They took his shoulder pads off

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Well, this isn't good news.

Jaxson Dart starts 4 for 4 passing in 11 on 11: two to Isaiah Likely, including one at the second level on the right side, and two to Calvin Austin, including a terrific touch throw to the left sideline

Cam Skattebo RB1

Josh Ezeudu and JC Davis both put Dolphins D linemen on...

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Hot start for Jaxson Dart.

The Dolphins' offensive line and blocking scheme is off to a very slow start against a strong Giants D front

- Joe Schad (@schadjoe) August 20, 2026

This is the kind of thing the Giants are counting on.

Giants S Jevon Holland beats Will Kacmarek on the blitz, sacks Malik Willis during 11 on 11 drills

- Marcel Louis-Jacques (@Marcel_LJ) August 20, 2026

Dennard Wilson dialing stuff up.

Deonte Banks shaken up on a big hit on kick return. Brian Burns and Giants on sideline fired up. Intensity building ... Heat advisory here today. Oppressive, humid...

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Let's hope Deonte Banks is alright. Also, you wonder if this is hinting at extracirricular activities coming at some point. Banks reportedly back in for hsi next rep, so he appears OK.

Giants starting out strong in 1 on 1s:

Deonte Banks with an INT in the end zone guarding Jalen Raegor

Malachi Fields wins two downfield on Jason Marshall Jr. and Marco Wilson on nice Jaxson Dart throws

Dart also with deep completions in 1 on 1s to Darnell Mooney and...

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) August 20, 2026

Early impressions are positive.

Malik Nabers not participating in joint practices with the Dolphins. Not a surprise. Coach John Harbaugh said the other day they were going to back off him in this setting.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) August 20, 2026

No Malik Nabers vs. Dolphins. That is what we expected.

Giants and Dolphins joint practice about to start. The heat is definitely on. pic.twitter.com/b8E2KkTsH9

- Paul Schwartz (@NYPost_Schwartz) August 20, 2026

This is what the scene looks like. To my knowledge, video will not be allowed once practice actually begins.

No 7-on-7 today, Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said of joint practice with Giants. Team drills all 11-on.

"We want to play real football and see if we can block them."

- David Furones (@DavidFurones_) August 20, 2026

The Giants usually do one 7-on-7 period during practice. Will they do so amongst themselves during the early part of practice?
