Per the NFL's transaction wire, the San Francisco 49ers signed defensive lineman Vilami Fehoko. The corresponding move was releasing tight end Josiah Deguara.

Fehoko was among three tryouts the team held over the weekend. Fehoko, listed anywhere between 267 and 276 pounds, played college football at San Jose State. While he may not be anything more than a camp body for another week, you can never have enough pass rushers.

Fehoko has the pedigree you're looking for in an edge rusher that you're signing off the street. The former third-round pick has the height-weight-length-strength combination Raheem Morris is looking for at a position that asks you to play in a two-point stance and rush the passer on one play but drop into coverage the next.

Deguara's roster spot was always in jeopardy after the Niners activated George Kittle and saw enough from Khalil Dinkins to invest in their undrafted rookie free agent from the 26 draft.
