Question of the Day: After Jaylon Johnson, who do you trust in the secondary?

After signing Coby Bryant and drafting Dillon Thieneman, Bears fans were excited about the new safety tandem with a healthy Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon, and to be fair, a question mark with Tyrique Stevenson.
But two significant dents have hit the secondary. Coby Bryant is going to be out, at minimum, for a significant part of the season following an injury. Kyler Gordon hasn't played, and now there are questions about whether he will even end up playing a down this season in Chicago.
The depth in the secondary wasn't great heading into camp, and with those two developments, suddenly, the Bears' secondary went from a strength to a pretty big question mark.
So that leaves us this question:
After Jaylon Johnson, who do you trust most in the secondary? The biggest positive development for the Bears secondary has been the play of Jaylon Johnson in training camp. He's looked like his old self, and if he provides lockdown coverage for Chicago, it will be a huge boost for the team.
But with no Bryant and no Gordon, who do you trust the most in the secondary after Johnson?
Answer: This is a tough one to answer. Is it Tyrique Stevenson, who has been very inconsistent in his play in the secondary to the point that he lost his job towards the end of the season? Is it Dillon Thieneman, who is a rookie and has never played an NFL snap in his life? Could it possibly be Cam Lewis, who hasn't consistently been a starter? Or is it Xavier Woods who wasn't even on the Bears roster until a few weeks ago?
I think Thieneman will be the answer within just two or three games into the season, but at this point, I don't think you can say a rookie who has never taken an NFL snap yet. I certainly don't think it's Lewis who I think is the weakest link in the secondary.
That leaves Woods and Stevenson.
Stevenson has been around the org for over three years, not just three weeks with Woods. But Woods has been a consistent veteran who has started and put in solid performances for multiple organizations. He isn't a superstar, but he is consistent.
Stevenson is anything but consistent. He can make some splash plays, but he has also frequently had lapses and given up major plays against the defense.
I think, as crazy as it sounds, I'm picking Woods as the most trustworthy player in the secondary for week one, but as I said, I think Thiemenan takes that title before the calendar turns to October.
