Amazon's Labor Day 2026 sale has pushed several over-ear headphones we already recommend to much better prices, from sub-$100 noise-canceling models to premium options from Sony, Bose, Apple, and Sennheiser. The now $198 Sony WH-1000XM5 are the ones I'd look at first, especially since the newer XM6 cost twice as much. There are also several good options around $200, including the Bose QuietComfort, Sennheiser Momentum 4, and Nothing Headphone (1), while people shopping at the premium end can save on the newer Sony WH-1000XM6, Bose QuietComfort Ultra, and both generations of AirPods Max.
We're also tracking the best tech and home deals, along with more worthwhile picks from major retailers, in our ongoing Labor Day coverage.

They combine excellent active noise cancellation with a comfortable over-ear fit, multipoint Bluetooth, and solid call quality, all at a price that undercuts many newer premium models. PCMag also praised their audio performance and microphone clarity in its review.
The newer WH-1000XM6 are also discounted to $398, down from $459.99, and add a foldable design along with improvements to noise cancellation, comfort, and call quality. We liked them enough to include them in our best over-ear headphones roundup, while our WH-1000XM6 review goes deeper into what's changed. They're a strong pick for people who care about comfort as much as noise cancellation, especially for long flights, commutes, or workdays. PCMag also praised their effective ANC and comfortable fit in its review.
Also discounted are the QuietComfort Ultras-the QuietComfort Ultra builds on the standard QuietComfort with Bose's higher-end noise cancellation, immersive audio, and a more premium design, which is why we also included them in our best over-ear headphones roundup. PCMag liked their ANC and sound performance as well, and with a $100 discount (currently $329, down from $429), they're the more feature-rich option without paying for the latest generation.
Speaking of, the newer QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) is just $70 more at $399 (originally $449), and brings improvements such as better battery life and USB-C audio-which, according to this PCMag review, is a meaningful refinement over the original Ultra.

The newer AirPods Max 2 are also discounted to $479, down from $549, putting them $50 above the original model. They add features such as Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness, along with Apple's newer H2 chips, and we've taken a closer look at what actually changed with the AirPods Max 2. PCMag's review also goes deeper into the newer model, but at the current prices, the original AirPods Max remain the easier choice if those additions aren't important to you.

PCMag also found plenty to like about their sound, comfort, and noise cancellation in its review.

Get Deal $157.49 at Amazon $209.99 Save $52.50 SEE 2 MORE The strongest sub-$250 options come from Sennheiser, starting with the Accentum Wireless at $99.95 (down from $189.95), and their lowest price yet, according to price trackers. They're the easiest pair here to recommend if you want active noise cancellation without spending much, while still getting the long battery life Sennheiser is known for. PCMag's review is worth a look if you want a closer sense of how their sound, ANC, and battery life are.
For a more capable step up within Sennheiser's lineup, the Momentum 4 are $224, down from $299.99. The higher price gets you stronger audio performance and up to 60 hours of battery life, making them a better fit if sound quality and endurance are higher priorities than keeping the price at sub-$100. PCMag's review is especially useful here for its take on how the Momentum 4 balances sound quality, comfort, and battery life over longer listening sessions.
Just above the Accentum in price, the Soundcore Space 2 is currently $109.99, down from $129.99. They offer adaptive ANC, long battery life, and LDAC support for compatible Android devices, giving you another well-rounded option around the $100 mark. For a deeper look at what you're getting at this price, PCMag's review breaks down the Space 2's sound, noise cancellation, and overall feature set.
Also discounted is the Nothing Headphone (1) at $219, down from $299. Their transparent-inspired design is the most obvious difference, but the physical Roller and Paddle controls are just as useful if you prefer tactile adjustments over touch gestures. They also include active noise cancellation and long battery life, giving them broader everyday appeal. For an in-depth look at the Headphone (1)'s unconventional design, controls, and everyday performance, PCMag's review is worth checking out.
And if bass is your priority, the Skullcandy Crusher Evo are $157.49, down from $209.99. Their adjustable sensory bass adds more low-end punch for music, games, and movies, though they leave out active noise cancellation. That makes them less travel-friendly than the Sennheiser or Soundcore picks, but a better match for listeners who want a heavier, more physical sound.
Amazon Labor Day Deals FAQsWhen do Labor Day sales start?Labor Day sales have already started and run through Monday, Sept. 7.
Are Labor Day sales worth it?Labor Day has traditionally been a good time to find deals in many categories, but whether they're worth it or not depends entirely on what you're looking for. Compared to sales like Black Friday or Prime Day, Labor Day falls short on volume and quality of discounts, but you might still find a good price on tech or kitchen appliances that will match those holiday prices-or even beat them. (We use price tracking tools to let you know if a deal is worth it or not.)
What other stores have Labor Day sales?Home Depot, Best Buy, Lowe's, Wayfair, and Target all have Labor Day sales. (Lifehacker will be rounding up deals for all of these sales.)
