Bears vs Panthers Final Injury Report: 4 Questionable for Chicago

The Chicago Bears just dropped their first final injury report for the 2026 season in advance of their Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers, and while not as clean as you'd hope for a season opener, it's not too bad.

The Bears list 4 players as questionable for the game: quarterback Tyson Bagent (back), wideout Rome Odunze (calf), left tackle Ozzy Trapilo (knee), and safety Xavier Woods (groin).

Bagent hasn't practiced all week, while Odunze and Trapilo were limited every day. Woods tweaked his groin at Thursday's practice and was also limited today.

Odunze said he's ready to go" on Sunday, so he'll probably test it out tomorrow before a final determination is made. Head coach Ben Johnson noted at his morning presser, when asked about Odunze, that it's a long season, which could mean they'll be a little extra cautious. But I think he plays.

Trapilo just being in this situation so soon after knee surgery is crazy, and I think he's inactive.

My guess is Bagent is inactive and doesn't even dress, meaning Case Keenum will be QB2.

Woods, for what it's worth, was listed on the unofficial depth chart as a starter. He could be a game-time decision.

The Panthers have only one player on their injury report: starting outside linebacker Patrick Jones II is out. This also means that Carolina running back Jonathon Brooks, who was dealing with a groin issue, will play.
