Cowboys' starting safety Malik Hooker has been downgraded to OUT with a forearm injury.

PBA: DAL, Hooker, Forearm, OUT.

The late hit by Holland results in a touchdown by the Cowboys. Dallas commits a taunting penalty, leading to a missed extra point by Brandon Aubrey. The Giants lead 28-20 with 5:21 remaining.

#Giants with a silly foul. Roughness on Holland. Didn't need that one after Flournoy already picked up a ton.

The #Cowboys, down 14, are to the #Giants 17 now.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Deonte Banks off the field now, Paulson Adebo in for Banks.

Now Paulson Adebo is coming in for Deonte Banks...

- Dan Duggan (@DDuggan21) September 14, 2026

Rookie CB Colton Hood on the field for Newsome. Expect Dallas to go after him.

Colton Hood comes in at CB for Greg Newsome, who got banged up making a tackle.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) September 14, 2026

Greg Newsome II down after a big hit on Javonte Williams.

Greg Newsome slow to get up after a big collision with Javonte Williams on that tackle.

TOUCHDOWN GIANTS! The Giants methodically drive the field again, this time with Jaxson Dart hitting Devin Singletary on a swing pass for the touchdown. The Giants lead 28-14 with 7:46 left to play.

Jaxson Dart and Matt Nagy just took Christian Parker and the Cowboys' defense to school on that drive.

- Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 14, 2026

What a great job by Singletary to know where he had to get to, putting his head down and getting there. Again, great poise from Jaxson Dart under duress in the pocket.

- Nick Falato (@nickfalato) September 14, 2026

The Giants have fumbled the ball four times tonight, losing just one. Cam Skattebo with a heck of a 7-yard carry, but had the ball squirt loose. Skattebo recovered the fumble and got three more yards.

Only fumble lost for Giants was Tyrone Tracy's in the red zone.

- Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 14, 2026

The #Giants have 22 first downs, 314 yards of offense & 21 points. There's 12:25 left in the game.

Great showing from the offense.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Let's see if the Giants can do the little things to close out a win in the fourth quarter.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) September 14, 2026

Should have specified here: I mean egregiously bad (obvious DPIs) https://t.co/zQdNbKyQCr

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

One random takeaway from this game: The way the #Giants have used their receivers. They're rotating everyone.

No set three. All who are dressed are in & out.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Deonte Banks left the field with a possible injury.

Deonte Banks just went off the field limping. Paulson Adebo enters in his place.

Cowboys immediately attack and complete a 15-yard pass on third and long against Adebo.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) September 14, 2026

Dallas finishes the drive with a touchdown after being bailed out by DPI calls.

Some of these flags are ridiculous.

- Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) September 14, 2026

I'm not so sure about that last DPI.

- Patricia Traina (@Patricia_Traina) September 14, 2026

The best compliment I can give the #Giants defense right now is they're making everything from the #Cowboys look like a struggle.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Heard last week Dart had been feeding Likely in practice. Was told to expect him to have a nice game. Didn't expect a welcome party like this though.

Six catches for 61 yards and 2 TDs for Likely's #Giants debut. pic.twitter.com/euwwysbjvu

- Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) September 14, 2026

Who the hell thought Nagy would cook like this??????

- KSIXI (@KSIXI) September 14, 2026

TOUCHDOWN GIANTS! Jaxson Dart hits Isaiah Likely for another touchdown on a quick play-action pass.

Touchdown #Giants. Dart - Likely again.

Great, great play design by Matt Nagy bringing Braxton Berrios in motion, then coming back to Likely. Skattebo in the flat cleared it out for him. Really good call.

It's 21-7. The Giants are taking it to a Cowboys team that is supposed...

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Dart finds Malik Nabers, first and goal on the Giants' opening drive.

Malik Nabers two catches for 29 yards on this opening drive of the second half. Starting to look like himself.

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) September 14, 2026

Nabers is now back in the game https://t.co/VSv4FPvrMt

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) September 14, 2026

Malik Nabers asked out and is being stretched on the sideline right now

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) September 14, 2026

Jaxson Dart looks like a point guard right now.

Just taking easy completion after easy completion. #Giants

- Ryan Dunleavy (@rydunleavy) September 14, 2026

Statement start to this drive for the #Giants
- 5 yard run (Skattebo)
- 7 yard run (Skattebo)
- 9 yard pass (Johnson)
- 7 yard run (Skattebo)

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

The Giants get the ball to start the second half after winning the opening coin toss and deferring. The Giants look to follow up capitalizing on Dak Prescott's turnover with a score coming out of the half.

First half updates

The Giants lead the Cowboys 14-7 as we head to halftime.

Jaxson Dart finished the first half in an excellent fashion after the Holland INT.

Dart went 4/4 with this third down conversation, as well as the touchdown to Likely off the blown Dallas' coverage. pic.twitter.com/xIaKXPZAfX

TOUCHDOWN GIANTS! The Giants capitalize on Dak Prescott's interception with a touchdown pass from Jaxson Dart to Isaiah Likely.

Touchdown Giants. Dart to Likely.

- Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 14, 2026

Great throw from Jaxson Dart on 3rd & 9. Put it right over Ezeiruaku's head to hit Nabers by the sideline.

First down #Giants.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

That's a heck of an interception by Holland, sliding in bounds. Credit the Giants rush and Kayvon Thibodeaux who never let Dak Prescott settle on the play and throw downfield.

Cowboys were about 10-15 yards away from an Aubrey field goal attempt.

- Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 14, 2026

INTERCEPTION GIANTS! Jevon Holland picks off Dak Prescott as he launches the ball while trying to get away from the Giants' pass rush.

The Giants finally fail to recover a fumble as the ball is punched out of Tyrone Tracy's arms.

Similar to the sack by the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason, Dart doesn't recognize the blitz from his right and double-clutches the ball.

Heads up play by Jon Runyan to recover a fumble by Dart after he was sacked by an unblocked Cowboys blitzer.

- Patricia Traina (@Patricia_Traina) September 14, 2026

Great touch and placement on that pass from Dart to Likely under duress. Took the hit from Quinnen Williams and Likely gets 19 for the first down.

- Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 14, 2026

CeeDee Lamb gets away with pushing off of Deonte Banks, then taunting him.

An official started pulling a flag out of his pocket to throw a taunting flag post-TD on CeeDee Lamb but then put it back

7-7 with 544 left in the half

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) September 14, 2026

Now it's a TD. Dak Prescott to Cee Dee Lamb in the corner.

Game tied at 7-7.

- Ralph Vacchiano (@RalphVacchiano) September 14, 2026

Touchdown overturned on review.

No TD. Play on. https://t.co/Bg5oj0SKtq

- Ralph Vacchiano (@RalphVacchiano) September 14, 2026

Touchdown Cowboys. A pair of DPI penalties advance the Cowboys into scoring position and Dallas gets the score... Pending review.

That was a ticky-tack DPI against Dru Phillips.

But #Cowboys gained 57 yards on two DPIs. #Giants pass rush not getting home

- Ryan Dunleavy (@rydunleavy) September 14, 2026

Illegal hands to the face by Terence Steele takes Abdul Carter's helmet off.

- Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 14, 2026

Brian Burns lights up Dak Prescott, but the Cowboys QB launches a deep shot for George Pickens, and Greg Newsome II makes contact early for pass interference. 38-yard gain for Dallas there

- Pat Leonard (@PLeonardNYDN) September 14, 2026

That was Dallas' 6th penalty of the night. Giants have one so far.

- Patricia Traina (@Patricia_Traina) September 14, 2026

bad missed call on the facemask on Skat. should have been a penalty/1st down

- Lori Rubinson (@LRubinsonWFAN) September 14, 2026

Giants tried to run a trick play on 4th and 1 but Runyan was called for a false start.

- Patricia Traina (@Patricia_Traina) September 14, 2026

The #Giants are going for it on 4th & 1 at their own 44.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Things getting exciting on Giants' second drive.

Dart - Likely. Nice move there by the tight end to shake free and pick up more. #Giants fortunate, though. Likely fumbled, but Ricard got on it.

Ezeiruaku punched it out.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Giants sticking with the ground game as Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy carry the ball to start their second drive.

Now Tyrone Tracy Jr. gets a carry on the Giants second drive. So already Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary and Tracy have touched the ball. #Giants

- Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) September 14, 2026

Dallas finds a bit of traction on their second drive, but the Giants ultimately force the punt to get the ball back.

George Pickens dropped a pass where he was wide open over the middle on 3rd & 4. Wouldn't have mattered - illegal shift.

The #Cowboys will punt. #Giants defense holds again. Offense coming back on.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

I like this no d-line package on third downs. What a difference when you have a little creativity.

- Patricia Traina (@Patricia_Traina) September 14, 2026

TOUCHDOWN GIANTS! New York takes the lead after an Isaiah Likely catch puts the Giants in scoring position and Cam Skattebo punches it in.

- Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) September 14, 2026

Touchdown #Giants. Cam Skattebo.

Great play call. Tremendous first series from Matt Nagy.

10 plays, 63 yards, TD.

That's how you make a statement.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

Jaxson Dart runs the ball, draws the flag for the late hit.

Dart on the move!!!

: NBC pic.twitter.com/6DwDC4ZUdk

- New York Giants (@Giants) September 14, 2026

Giants open in 21-personnel, run the ball 3 times for the first down.

Cool version of the tush push there from Jaxson Dart & the #Giants. They convert on third & short.

- Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) September 14, 2026

#Giants first formation includes
WR Nabers, Fields
RB Ricard, Skattebo
TE: Likely

- Ryan Dunleavy (@rydunleavy) September 14, 2026

The decision pays off as the Giants force a 3-and-out to open the game.

And here. We. Go.

John Harbaugh: Coin toss deferrer

I like #Giants starting on defense tonight.

The biggest storyline of this game: Is this finally the year the Giants whoop the Cowboys in the trenches?

- Ryan Dunleavy (@rydunleavy) September 14, 2026

Pre-game updates

The #Giants introduced Odell Beckham Jr. first ahead of tonight's matchup vs. the Cowboys.

Stadium went crazy. Special.

The Giants take the field.

I haven't heard the Cowboys booed like they just were in this building in a long, long time.

Malik Nabers is playing!

The New York Giants will be battling against history on Sunday night as they try to defeat the Dallas Cowboys in their season-opener at MetLife Stadium.

• The Giants are 1-6 in their last seven season-openers against Dallas.
• The Giants have begun 0-2 or or worse in 10 of the last 13 seasons.
• Since 2014, the Giants are 11-36, a .234 winning percentage, in primetime.
• The Giants have not won a season-opener at MetLife Stadium since 2010.

Can they begin to rewrite some of that history on Sunday? The Giants are 3-point underdogs, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

Here are a few things to watch:

• Will Malik Nabers play? If so, how much and how well?
• What sort of pre-game ovation will Odell Beckham get?
• The pre-game ceremonies marking the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.
• How will Jaxson Dart and a revised Giants' offense play?
• Can the Giants' revamped defense slow the Dallas offense?
