Commanders DE Dorance Armstrong has officially been reinstated by the league following his Week 1 suspension

Commanders Wk. 1 snap counts:

*70 total off. snaps ... only game with more last season was vs. DEN (OT)

* McLaurin played all but 9 off. snaps

* Oweh played all but 9 def. snaps

* Reaves, Robertson only ones to play all 55 def. snaps pic.twitter.com/WnWaTLJFst

No notable injury updates from Quinn on Luvu (groin), Okonkwo/Magee (hamstring) and Owens (ankle)

Sounds like Owens might the shakiest of rhe bunch but all tbd. More on Wednesday.

- Ben Standig (@BenStandig) September 14, 2026

Pretty wild that Washington doubled up the Eagles on 1st downs, won time of possession and had 0 turnovers and still lost. Thats the power of giving up explosives. pic.twitter.com/aTotzDDzdi

Here are the PFF numbers on pressures allowed.

** These weren't all quick pressures and often came late in the down after coverage forced Daniels to hold the ball. ** pic.twitter.com/ZStvn22PbK

- Grant Paulsen (@GrantPaulsen) September 14, 2026

Jayden Daniels did an excellent job covering the "warts" of the OL.

He avoided sacks and limited negative plays by throwing the ball away.

However, he was sped up just a hair, and had to bail on routes or throw off platform.

The OL was serviceable yesterday. But not great. https://t.co/z5olQ0WMyc

- George Carmi (@Gcarmi21) September 14, 2026

Sam Cosmi had the best tape of any OL I've seen from Week 1. He put Jalen Carter in Alcatraz whenever they faced off 1v1. Stack this on top of his awesome performances vs. him in 2024 as well. ELITE. pic.twitter.com/C2pspIo52Z

- Brandon Thorn (@BrandonThornNFL) September 14, 2026

.@Commanders@Eagles@SamCosmi helluva effort by this group and especially Cosmi going up against Carter....Not many OG's in this business can stop Carter 1 on 1. #BaldysBreakdownspic.twitter.com/TEUz7K0hNr

- Brian Baldinger (@BaldyNFL) September 14, 2026

Poor stunt pickup between Paul and Coleman. Paul is late to recognition, and neither passes their man off to the other. Chaos. pic.twitter.com/YdQw3cLe9d

- Jamual (@LetMualTellit) September 14, 2026

The #Commanders allowed a pressure rate of 50% vs. the Eagles, which was tied for the second-worst mark in the NFL in Week 1 according to Next Gen Stats.

A contributing factor: QB Jayden Daniels had an average time to throw of 3.41 seconds, which was the slowest among all QBs.

- Tashan Reed (@tashanreed) September 14, 2026

Some context around the severity of a Week 1 loss from @RotoWireNFL. Washington losing is undeniably bad, but it's not as bad as some might make it seem. pic.twitter.com/BAWDZ5QvlW

.@Commanders@Eagles@MoroOjomo makes the biggest play of the day by spinning away from choke block to tackle Bates....But what if.... #BaldysBreakdownspic.twitter.com/UsuY8LfcWo

- Brian Baldinger (@BaldyNFL) September 14, 2026

Why didn't Jayden Daniels hit the open flat on the 2 pointer?

(Explained in the clip) pic.twitter.com/C4yIAdorul

- Ted Nguyen (@FB_FilmAnalysis) September 14, 2026

Hey @GetUpESPN the reason you don't throw it on @Commanders last play is because the QB is reading the DE! If he steps down it's a pass or QB run, since he widens, the read says shovel pass & if blocked correctly it's a conversion!

- Kurt Warner (@kurt13warner) September 14, 2026

Per @ESPNstatsinfo1/@NextGenStats: in the last 5 years there were 55 shovel pass attempts inside the 5-yard line; 48 were completed and 20 went for TDs.
Was unable to break down to 2 point conversions.

- John Keim (@john_keim) September 14, 2026

On the Sonny Styles sack, the other rookie on defense had an awesome rep too. Look at Josh Josephs rag-doll future HOFer Lane Johnson into Hurts. pic.twitter.com/YhRAD86IBj

- Grant Paulsen (@GrantPaulsen) September 14, 2026

The Commanders pass rush felt impactful and they didn't even have Dorance Armstrong, who will return this week in Dallas.

Hard not to be excited by the first day of the Daronte Jones aggressiveness.

- Grant Paulsen (@GrantPaulsen) September 14, 2026

From under center: Jayden Daniels completed 2-4 passes for 19 yards.
Out of gun: Daniels was 16-30 for 145 yards and 2 TDs
play action: 3-5, 27 yards.
Daniels was pressured on 19 of 38 dropbacks per @NextGenStats. 3-15 for 26 yards.
Vs blitz he was 5-7, 47 yards, both TDs

- John Keim (@john_keim) September 14, 2026

Liked the design from Blough. 11 personnel/Empty set. Jayden sends Diggs into the backfield, and his matchup shifts from Cooper to Baun in space. Opportunity to get out of their own end zone, Diggs wins the route phase but drops the ball. Maybe not a first down either, but close. pic.twitter.com/0bCiftkGEA

Not just special teams.

This is legitimately one of the greatest football plays I've ever seen.

It doesn't get much better than that right there. Every coach in America will be showing this rep to their team this week. https://t.co/pqFh5ybuVe

- Mitchell Tischler (@Mitch_Tischler) September 14, 2026

Among #Commanders who had double digit pass rush snaps, DT Daron Payne was the most effective. He led the team with a pressure rate of 21.1% on 19 pass rush snaps. OLB K'Lavon Chaisson was the next closest at 14.3%.

- Tashan Reed (@tashanreed) September 14, 2026

Jayden Daniels targeting Cooper DeJean

7-of-9, 83 yards, TD, 142.1 rating

DeJean allowed 5 first downs and 30 yards after the catch.

Arguably the worst game of DeJean's career. #Eagles

- Jeff Kerr (@JeffKerrPHL) September 14, 2026

I felt much better about Jayden Daniels' first three quarters after watching the All-22.

There was often nobody open. PHI's coverage was buttoned up. They've got 3 guys who have played in pro bowls on the back end and they're very well coached.

Throwing the ball away is...

Rewatching the game: This was a miscommunication between Sainristil and Nick Cross. It was a two-man route concept with Wicks and Goedert. Both of them went with Wicks, which left Goedert uncovered. That confusion led to both players freezing and leaving Wicks open. https://t.co/ioQajptf2G

Per @NextGenStats: Washington hit Saquon Barkley behind the line on 7 of his 15 carries. He gained 78 of his 83 yards after 1st contact. And 42 of his yards came on one run (but that's who he has been: hold in check until you don't).
