Triple launch: Boox debuts Note Air6 C and Palma 3 just in time for fall binge-reading

Onyx Boox launched a trio of ePaper tablets today (Sept. 16), just in time for the chillier months. Each tablet features a built-in front light, capable of reading in any situation.
This morning, Boox detailed its press release for the Note Air6 C, Palma 3, and the Note Mini C. Reading and writing are the hallmarks of these tablets, and we're beginning with the Boox Note Air6 C. "Available now," the Note Air6 C continues what Boox states is its "most popular series." Consumers will find a 10.3-inch HD color ePaper display with a 4nm octa-core processor and "Dual Tone" to adjust the screen's warm and cooler tones for a softer eye experience.
The tactile writing experience is something Boox reiterates as a positive note from many Air C-series consumers. The Air6 C delivers that with a native Notes app with Outline, Tag, and Search tools. This Notes app features a "Dual Note" feature, letting consumers open two separate notes "horizontally or vertically." What's more, Boox states the tablet fully supports Android 16 and the Google Play Store.
Reading is another major highlight for Boox tablets. The post states it delivers a "40% reduction in page turn speed compared to its predecessor," thanks to its BSR technology. Additionally, the tablet offers 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and includes the Boox Pen3 stylus.
The Boox Note Air6 C is available today for $579. The tablet will become available on Amazon soon.
On the other hand, we have two more ePaper tablets that are "launching soon." The first is another addition to the Boox Note series: the Note Mini C.
This smaller, 8.5-inch color ePaper display reportedly balances "portability and readability." Boox spoke highly of its one-handed use in its overview of the tablet. With the smaller size, Boox says it has kept its PDF legibility intact for users. The included InkSight Magnetic Active Stylus has been redesigned with a side button and a stronger magnetic connection.
Boox made sure to provide the Note Mini C with the same front-light treatment. It states the tablet features "Dual-Tone" adjustable warm and cool tones. This should provide an easy-on-the-eye experience, especially when using the device for prolonged periods.
BSR technology assists the Mini C's lag-free scrolling for documents and websites. Android 16 and access to the Play Store are included as well. Once the Mini C arrives, consumers can utilize its 6/64GB configuration and 3,150mAh battery.
Boox states the Note Mini C will "launch soon" for $579 in the U.S., with Amazon availability to follow.
The Palma series gets another
If we're talking portability and the one-handed experience, it's hard not to mention Boox's Palma series. Luckily for consumers, the Palma 3 was announced this morning.
The Palma 3 features a 6.1-inch ePaper display. Boox adds that it's improved the screen with "deeper blacks and higher contrast." However, the Palma 3's redesigned frame is also earning attention. According to the post, Boox integrated "fine stationary" tactility. It replaced the plastic body with anodized aluminum to emulate a more premium feel. The fiber-glass back panel reinforces that ambition of a premium ePaper tablet.
The Palma 3 also features the "Dual Tone" front light tech for warm and cooler tones, alongside an Ambient Light Sensor. Boox says this sensor will adjust the device's brightness depending on your surroundings. Similar to the other two devices launched today, the Palma 3 features Android 16 and Google Play Store support.
Other specs include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 3,950mAh battery is said to provide "days of deep reading" on a single charge.
The Boox Palma 3 will launch soon for $339.
