The Motorola Signature 27 is coming for Android's best flagships with some wild specs

Motorola has just revealed its first smartphone powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, and it's called the Motorola Signature 27.
Motorola has been teasing the Signature 27 on social media for the past couple of days, and now we're finally learning more about the device. The Signature 27 is the company's top-tier flagship smartphone and the second generation in the lineup following last year's first Signature model.
Motorola says the Signature series is also adopting a new naming scheme, using the final two digits of the coming year for each new model.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Qualcomm's first 2nm chipset, Motorola says the Signature 27 will deliver flagship performance alongside powerful on-device AI, gaming, and camera capabilities. To keep all of that performance cool, Motorola is using a new ArcticMesh cooling system that combines diamond-infused thermal gel with a redesigned 3D vapor chamber.
Motorola says the new cooling system offers around a 40% improvement in thermal performance compared to the previous generation, particularly during sustained AI workloads, gaming, and video recording.
Speaking of cameras, one of the main highlights of the Signature 27 is the quad-camera setup on the back. It includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor alongside a massive 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
There's also a new video enhancement engine that uses AI to create a real-time intelligence layer, automatically adjusting things like color tones by analyzing the scene before and during recording. Motorola has also integrated Qualcomm's image stabilization technology with 3.5-degree hardware OIS, which the company says should result in smoother and more stable video.
Audio is getting a major upgrade as well, with the Signature 27 becoming Motorola's first smartphone to feature Audio by B&O.
In terms of design, Motorola is sticking with premium materials and offering the Signature 27 in two distinct finishes. Pantone Cool Smoke features a woven texture designed to improve grip, while Pantone Capulet Green goes for a softer, more fashion-inspired finish.
Motorola hasn't announced the Signature 27's exact release date, availability, or pricing just yet. However, the company says the phone is expected to launch in markets worldwide later this year, so we should hear more about pricing and availability fairly soon.
