Alert 9/26-28: Biking and walking path will remain usable during weekend Spokane Street Bridge closure

Signs have been warning about an upcoming bridge closure, but that only affects the general vehicle lanes because crews are working to repair a gate that was damaged in a 2024 collision. The trail next to the roadway will not be affected.
It's nice to be able to post a bike alert about the swing bridge that is actually good news for people walking and biking.
Meanwhile, Sound Transit wrapped up their delayed work on the biking and walking path near Delridge and the West Seattle Bridge a few days ago, West Seattle Blog reported. So bike routes in the area should be back to normal through the weekend.
