We are back with your Week 4 episode of, Before the Roar," where myself and my good friend Meko Scott break down the Detroit Lions' upcoming matchup against the Carolina Panthers. After a close win in Week 3 over the New York Jets at home, Detroit is back on the road in a primetime slot where they will be looking to pick up their third win of the season.

Coming off of a year where they won the NFC South and took the Los Angeles Rams to the wire in the playoffs, the Panthers have high hopes for the 2026 season, despite getting off to a bit of a rocky start thus far. Going into his third year as coach, Dave Canales has plenty of talent to work with on either side of the ball. Unfortunately, the Panthers are among the most injured teams in the NFL through the early portion of the season. Still, as we know, this is the NFL and, injured or not, no team is to be taken lightly in this league.

We kick things off by examining the makeup of the Carolina coaching staff, and what both sides of the ball have looked like through three weeks of play. Obviously, we won't know who is suiting up or not for the Panthers until later in the week, but either way, there is enough talent on other areas of their roster that make this an interesting matchup for Detroit-especially on the road, and potentially in the rain. Knock on wood for me there.

From there we highlight several matchups featuring various position groups, as well as give our predictions for the Sunday night matchup. You can listen wherever you get your podcasts, and you can watch over on the Pride of Detroit Youtube page right here.
