Pittsburgh has signed practice squad cornerback Doneiko Slaughter to the 53-man roster ahead of Thursday night's matchup against the Cleveland Browns, the team announced. Slaughter had previously been temporarily elevated the maximum three times; now he is officially a member of the team's roster.
With Slaughter now on the roster, Pittsburgh has an open slot on its practice squad.
Slaughter played primarily at slot corner in the preseason but also saw some boundary reps. It remains to be seen how much playing time he could get this week - while both defensive backs Brandin Echols and Jalen Ramsey were questionable entering the Browns matchup, both are expected to suit up.
Steelers corner Jalen Ramsey (questionable, wrist) is expected to play tonight vs Cleveland, per sources.

Broken wrist on three days rest and Ramsey still plans to play.
The Steelers also temporarily elevated running back Lew Nichols to the active/inactive roster for the Browns game - he was also elevated last week. He will revert back to the practice squad following the game.
