On Tuesday, the team signed a new kicker - Zane Gonzalez - while releasing incumbent Riley Patterson. In addition to that roster shuffle, the team also released a familiar name who hadn't seen the field in 2026, but played a significant role in the team's defensive backfield rotation in past years.
Cornerback Storm Duck was released from Miami's physically unable to perform list after practicing fully for the past two weeks. In early 2025, Duck suffered a major knee injury which cost him most of last season. He was still working his way into playing shape when the Dolphins gave him his walking papers Tuesday morning.
After signing with Miami as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2024 NFL season, Duck played 14 games for the Dolphins as a rookie. He totaled 35 tackles and four passes defensed during his first season with the club. Last year, Duck played in just two games before his season-ending knee injury, making two tackles and having one pass defense during that stretch.
In addition to Miami's move at kicker, the team announced that they waived EDGE Andre Jones Jr., while signing rookie EDGE Rodney McGraw to the active roster from the team's practice squad.
