Webull Puts a Date on Bitcoin Perpetual Futures: US Rollout Begins in November

Webull will roll out Bitcoin perpetual futures to its US clients starting in November, the Nasdaq-listed brokerage said on October 20 in an announcement that puts a date on a product most American retail platforms do not offer.

The launch brings perpetual futures to a mass US retail audience. The derivative, which crypto exchanges pioneered, lets traders hold leveraged long or short positions indefinitely, and with about 6 million clients in the United States, Webull is moving a product once confined to offshore venues onto regulated rails.

How the product works

A perpetual future tracks Bitcoin's price but never expires, unlike a conventional quarterly futures contract. Traders post margin and can take leveraged positions in either direction. The mechanism that keeps the contract price near spot is the funding rate: periodically, whichever side of the market is overleveraged pays the other. On regulated US venues, the CFTC oversees that clearing and settlement, which is the main difference from offshore exchanges where retail traders currently get most of their perps exposure.

Why the date matters

US retail access to crypto derivatives has been widening all year. The CFTC approved the first perpetual futures contracts earlier in 2026, with Coinbase and Kalshi among the initial approvals. A Nasdaq-listed retail broker now building its own offering on those same regulated rails is a signal of how quickly the line between fintech and crypto infrastructure is dissolving.
