A 3D Animated History of London From Founding to Present Day
Christian Ivan of City 3D Timelapse, who previously created 3D timelapses of Manhattan Island from 1600 to 2026 and Rome from 1000 BCE to 2026, told London's long history as a 3D animated story, building it in Blender and using OpenStreetMap data.
This is the animated story of London, from its foundation to the present day.
Throughout the video, Ivan traced London's storied growth from its Roman founding through its notable eras. These included the Saxon, medieval, Tudor and Stuart, Georgian, Victorian, and World War eras, all the way through to the present day.
Ivan has also created 3D timelapses of Paris, the Louvre, and the Arc de Triomphe.
