Mass by Michigan-based artist Carson David Brown is an ongoing series of impromptu color-coordinating temporary installations crafted inside "big box" stores in a commentary against the excess of mass consumption. The artist doesn't seek permission before creating the installations, which are left in place until an employee discovers and dismantles them.

Mass is a site specific installation project about creating visual disruptions in places of mass. Installations are made using found materials within each location. "Places of mass" are currently characterized as being large retail establishments (supercenters, big-box stores, etcetera.).
