The right wing of the Coalition is forcing Australians to "pledge loyalty" to coal and in the process missing out on investment opportunities in renewable energy, the opposition leader, Bill Shorten, said.
Shorten addressed reporters on Tuesday, explaining the constraints that the prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull, was facing from the right of his own party.
