WordPress.com Launches Calypso, A Rebuilt Version of Their Blogging Platform and a New Desktop App

WordPress.com has launched a rebuilt open-source version of their popular blogging platform as well as a new WordPress.com desktop app that will allow users to write, read, and comment on posts. The new project is codenamed Calypso, and is available now to download for Mac with Windows and Linux version due out soon. Automattic and WordPress.com founder Matt Mullenweg posted more about the launch of Calypso on his blog.
