Okinawa, the beautiful group of 160 sub-tropical islands in the south of Japan, is known for its rich history, gorgeous beaches, fabulous food and a warm, laid-back way of life. Recently a group of six people from around the world (United States, Singapore, France, Thailand, China and Germany) were invited to experience the riches of Okinawa first hand while revealing a secret about themselves to loved ones. Each person's story is told separately in the 6-part video series "OKINAWA: The Secret is Out".

The first story is about Priscilla from Singapore.

Priscilla brought her parents to Okinawa to enjoy the food and the local culture, before revealing her life-changing career secret to them. While in Okinawa, Priscilla and her parents visited the Makishi Public in Naha, a covered arcade filled fresh fish, fresh meat and fresh produce stalls that line the market.

The Makishi Market in Naha is a spectacular theatre of sights, sounds and flavors in which the leading actors are all women. As visitors enter from Kokusai Street, they are faced with a display of Okinawan cuisine lined up like a colorful chorus line of culinary temptations from tropical seafood, to pork, and simple island vegetables. Hungry visitors only need to step up to the second floor restaurants to satisfy their appetites.

The second story is from Eric from Paris, France.

Eric brought his beautiful wife Isabelle to the beautiful beach town of Kume where they received luscious spa treatments before he revealed his romantic secret to the love of his life.

Kume, which lies about 90 km west of Naha City, is rich in natural greenery and historic sites. Ifu Beach, on the east of the island, and Hate no Hama (features in Video & is approximately 20minute from Tomari Fisherina by Boat), an island made up entirely of wide sandy beaches, are among the most popular spots. Kumejima is where traditional Japanese Pongee - the hand-spun silk, dyed with plant materials indigenous to the islands and used for kimonos - is said to have originated and is still made today. Deep-sea mineral water from this area is also used in food and cosmetics, and a warm 100% deep-sea mineral water bathhouse called "Bade House Kume" is hugely popular.

Upcoming videos in the series include Mara from Germany who wants to tell her boyfriend an embarrassing secret about the night they met at the relaxing environment of Kouri Island and Lucy from Shanghai, China who wants brings her husband to Kariyushi Beach speak with him about a message she found on his phone three years ago.

Visiting Okinawa is easily done, with daily flights from major domestic airports such as the Narita International Airport, Haneda Airport, Central Japan International Airport (Centrair), and Kansai International Airport to Okinawa's gateway Naha Airport. Once on the ground are car rentals, bike rentals, tour buses and convenient itineraries are available.
