The gigantic sand dunes in Cronulla, Sydney - close to the so-called birthplace of modern Australia - date back to mesolithic times. But over the past century they have been steadily encroached upon by human activity. The remaining dunes now lie sandwiched between a luxurious housing estate on one side and industrial buildings on the other. Our photographer Jonny Weeks has documented the current state of the dunes and the much-changed environment around them
