Great white shark dies after three days in captivity in Japan

Cause of death at aquarium under investigation as animal rights campaigners criticise shark's captivity as cruel and wrong

A great white shark has died after three days in captivity in a Japanese aquarium.

The 3.5 metre (11.5ft) shark, which was accidentally caught in a net off the coast of south-west Japan on Tuesday, died early on Friday, according to Okinawa Churaumi aquarium. The cause of death is under investigation.
