Professor Lawrence Krauss, cosmologist at Arizona State university, speaks to the Guardian about the possible discovery of gravitational waves. The professor explains what a gravitational wave is, what this means for astronomy and Einsteins general theory of relativity. He added that the excitement surrounding the possible discovery is good for science but is clear that the news must not be read into too deeply. The paper from the Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (Ligo) on the potential findings is still to be published
