Samsung wins Snapdragon 820s as it begins 14-nm LPP production

Samsung announced that it's begun mass production of chips using its 14-nm Low Power Plus (LPP) process, the latest generation of its FinFET fabrication tech. The company will make its own Exynos 8 Octa SoC on this process, but that's not the only high-end chip it'll be building. Samsung says it'll also be making Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 using 14-nm LPP FinFETs. This news confirms long-standing rumors about Qualcomm's foundry of choice for its next-generation flagship SoC.
