Taylor Hall scored twice, and later added an assist on an empty-netter to lead the Edmonton Oilers to their first regulation win on the road since Oct. 17, with a 4-2 victory over the Florida Panthers.

Teddy Purcell set up both Hall goals before the Oilers' leading scorer returned the favor on the empty-netter. Purcell's three-point night ended a six-game scoring drought.

In goal, Cam Talbot had a strong outing in his first action since signing a three-year extension worth $12.5 million. The 28-year-old made 30 saves for his second straight victory.

Meanwhile, there is concern for the Oilers as forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will now be out of the lineup "long term" after suffering a hand injury due to a blocked shot.

The game began with fireworks as forward Matt Hendricks was pummeled by Panthers defenseman Erik Gudbranson - who later left the game with an apparent back strain - as a response to Hendricks' dirty hit on Aaron Ekblad that warranted him a three-game suspension earlier in the month.

The Oilers will need to recover quickly as they continue their three-game road trip against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
