The Carolina Hurricanes slowly crawled past the Toronto Maple Leafs 1-0 in an uneventful overtime contest Thursday.

The game resembled nap time at a preschool rather than an electric display of fast-paced athleticism, and many in attendance and watching at home made it clear how they felt about the rather unremarkable display.

More tweets from me than scoring chances in this game. #Leafs 0, #Canes 0. Sorry if I'm overdoing it.

I truly need something to happen. #Leafs 0, #Canes 0. 9:45 to go in third period. Anything really. Anything.

The Maple Leafs have now dropped six of their last seven games, while the Hurricanes moved to within three points of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with their fifth win in seven games.
