How Cats Attempt to Communicate by Using a Variety of Languages That Humans Can Understand

BBC Earth put a tough blue-eyed feline named Prince under surveillance to learn how cats try to communicate their intentions and feelings through the use of their meows, their tails and their unique body movements. Dr. Sarah Ellis, cat behavior expert, pointed out what and how Prince was trying to communicate.

He spends a lot of time out on the street and he's very, very confident. You can see how he rushed over to the person filming. And what he was doing is what we call a "social roll". It's a positive behavior and we know that because the cat is exposing its stomach, it's the belly area - and they wouldn't do that if they felt very, very vulnerable, if they were worried about this person, because that's their most sensitive area."
