Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin ran over Jacob Josefson with a devastating hit in the Washington zone, forcing the Devils forward to skate straight to the bench in obvious discomfort.
The game went to a shootout, with Ovechkin scoring the deciding goal to clinch another victory for the NHL's best team.
