Shayne Gostisbehere is already making Philadelphia Flyers history.
With a goal and an assist in Saturday's loss to the New York Rangers, the rookie defenseman pushed his point streak to seven games, the longest ever by a first-year Flyers blue-liner.
Gostisbehere achieved the feat by opening the scoring with a power-play goal, his fifth of the season.
The 22-year-old leads all NHL rookie defensemen with 26 points through 32 games (nine goals, 17 assists), and his points per game average of 0.81 is fourth among all rookies.
League-wide, only Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns, Kris Letang, and John Klingberg are averaging more points per game.
