"He's a Subban. We're built tough," the Montreal Canadiens defenseman told reporters after Sunday's win over the Carolina Hurricanes, according to TSN's John Lu.

Malcolm is in stable condition after taking a puck to the throat during warmups for the AHL's Providence Bruins on Saturday night before a game against the Portland Pirates.

P.K. said there was a family chat about the incident Saturday, and that he found out about Malcolm's hospitalization on Twitter.

The Canadiens' blue-liner is about four and a half years older than the Bruins goaltending prospect. Their younger brother Jordan is a 20-year-old defenseman in the Vancouver Canucks system.
