Penguins unveil 50th anniversary logo

The Pittsburgh Penguins have revealed the logo to be used for their 50th anniversary season in 2016-17.

"We're looking forward to a season-long salute of a half-century of Penguins hockey," said David Morehouse, club president and CEO. "We're excited to honor our history, and we think our fans will enjoy the many activities that we have planned. We will have more announcements related to the anniversary heading into next season."

The Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, and St. Louis Blues - all of which were awarded expansion franchises on this day in 1966 - will also be celebrating their respective 50th anniversaries.
